So Mary, who's been staying in the gites round the corner for the past six or seven weeks, is going home tomorrow and we take her out for dinner to say cheerio. She's supposed to have been finding a house to live in but has in fact succeeded only in finding houses she doesn't want to live in, and is now thinking about going to live in Montpellier instead.
We go to Le Plan in St Hippo which we've often peered at but never been in. Many have recommended it to us and it proves to be well up to the expected task.
Moules in Roquefort sauce gets us going very well indeed, very unusual but extremely good. In fact the only thing worth complaining about is that they keep the rosé and red wines in the same 'frigo à vins, which looks like a fridge but is designed to do the job of an underground wine cave - keep it at about 55 degrees F. Which is fine for red but too warm for rosé. Strange.
Still, heartily recommended though, excellent food.
