So there's a big closing down sale going on at Innovations, http://www.innovations.co.uk. Unlike some who find it fashionable to say they've never bought anything from the company that provides so much of our national need for paper for landfills via things that fall out of Sunday newspapers, I'm happy to say I've bought a few things from them. Notably a loo roll holder which has an inbuilt magazine rack, essential for all boys in toilets. And a recharger for alkaline batteries which saves us a fortune. Anyway, as I was browsing about I noticed that I had a shopping basket of items already. Eh? Oh yes, I've already bought not one but two Extendable shelves, a Geltech Saddle Cover and a Hyperpen and Tablet. I can guess what the first two do, but I've no idea what a hyperpen is. And Innovations are going to have to whistle for the £57.46 they think I owe them.
The builders - not Manuel but his bro' and a sidekick - get on with the pantry floor, wainscotting (it's not wainscotting but I can't remember the word for it, it's the wooden moulding stuff round the wall/ceiling interface) and steps outside. They claim they've finished at 4 but I tell them the steps aren't good enough. Why not? they wonder. Because, I say, there's one missing. The bottom one. Where you've plunked down a load of cement and hoped I wouldn't spot it. And please don't smoke inside my house.
Ah. Right, guv. We'll finish it next week. Bank holiday on Monday, swimming pool Tuesday so see you Wednesday, all right?
And off they go.
It is called coveing!!!!!!!!!!!!
