Tuesday, June 17: No Walkies

It's the second walking club meet this morning but the builders are back and Ms Dog isn't up to the heat at the moment, so I stay at home with her while Mrs K goes walkies.
The builders are doing a great job and should be finished by the end of this week. The roof tiles on the terrace outside my office look terrific, and the pantry floor is great now it's concreted over - dirt floors probably aren't the best choice for food storage rooms.
I pop over to Cannes this afternoon to collect my shorts from Patty who's been fettling them for me. Being of, erm, a 'certain shape' I tend to have all my trousers and shorts wear out where my thighs rub together. Patty's put in a very clever patch in two pairs to rejuvenate them - like the patches inside the thighs and on the seat of cycle shorts. She's also taken in two pairs of shorts to make them fit the new, svelte me. And taken the label off the outside of my denim shirt where the previous sewer put it to cover the pulled seam.
Excellent work all round, in fact, a bargain for just €60. If you need any sewing doing, this is the place to go.
I pop in to say Hi! to Alex afterwards as I'm literally passing by; he's got his mum staying for a while and we shoot the breeze for a while.
